On Valentine’s Day, Josh Groban thrilled fans by announcing the launch of his 2011 World Tour on NBC’s The Today Show. Now, the multi-platinum recording artist has announced the North American tour dates and ticket on-sale dates for the “Straight To You” Tour, which visits cities across the U.S. and Canada beginning May 12^th in New Orleans. In addition to the three dates announced previously (Dallas, Kansas City, MO, and Moline, IL), confirmed dates are listed below, along with ticket on-sale dates. This is Groban’s first full-scale global arena tour since 2007, when the internationally renowned singer and songwriter hit the road for his hugely successful, sold-out 81-city Awake World Tour.

The “Straight To You” Tour will bring the feel of a theater experience to an arena setting through stage design, lighting, and projection, as well as through the spontaneity and interactivity Groban delighted his fans with during last year’s “Before We Begin” shows, in which he solicited feedback from the audience on which songs should be included in the set-list. As a result, for the “Straight To You” shows, Groban will continue to interact with audiences and perform favorites from his best-selling albums, including his self-titled debut, Closer, and Awake, as well as songs from Illuminations.

Released by 143/Reprise Records on November 15th, Illuminations debuted at No. 4 on Billboard‘s Top 200 chart (Groban’s fourth consecutive Top 5 chart bow), selling 191,337 units in its first week. Entertainment Weekly declared that “Illuminations might be Groban’s handsomest effort yet.” USA Today raved: “Illuminations yields glowing music. Sturdy, deeply personal statements, brimming with poignancy.” The New York Times also praised the album, saying it “showcases Mr. Groban’s songwriting” and “reflects the conviction that gallantry can also be pensive and uncertain.”

Groban recently performed the National Anthem at the 60^th Annual NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles. He will be a guest-host on Live with Regis & Kelly on March 4^th.

The year 2010 saw Soundgarden – Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron – reuniting after a 13-year absence to a thunderous roar. As promised, the band have now announced that they’ll be releasing their first-ever collection of live tracks on March 22, 2011 through UMe.

Titled Live on I5 – a reference to the Interstate 5 which runs up and down the West Coast- the new collection compiles live tracks from a 1996 run by the band and captures the band at the height of their recording and touring career. This carefully selected compilation includes fan favorites like “Spoonman”, “Rusty Cage”, “Burden In My Hand,” and “Black Hole Sun” (performed by Chris Cornell solo), as well what insiders are calling the definitive live performance of “Jesus Christ Pose.”

New Zealand’s finest export, The Naked And Famous are ready to make 2011 their year in the States. Already climbing up the CMJ charts with their single Young Blood currently in the Top 10 and a session on KCRW’s acclaimed radio show Morning Becomes Ecletic, the band are ready to hit the road starting in Austin in March for SXSW. Shortly after, the band begin their first North American tour alongside British band Foals and Brooklyn’s Freelance Whales, kicking off on April 10 in Vancouver, Canada BC.

The Naked And Famous have quickly become a #1 smash in their homeland with their album Passive Me, Aggresive You debuting at #1 on the New Zealand album charts, Young Blood hitting #1 on the singles charts, and the album was voted critics #1 album of 2010 by The New Zealand Herald.

Electronic three-piece Innerpartysystem has digitally released their new 6-song EP Never Be Content (Red Bull Records), which debuted today at #1 on the iTunes Electronic Albums Chart.

Self-described gearheads with an infatuation for synthesizing sounds, the trio recorded and produced most of the tracks themselves and renowned producer Richard X (MIA, Kelis, Annie, Rachel Stevens) contributed additional production and mixing. With cutting edge programming and recording techniques, an appealing pop sensibility and a finely-tuned songcraft, Never Be Content, which includes a new edit of current single “American Trash,” runs the gambit from the melodic, bubbling “Squid” to the evocative and dance-floor friendly “Not Getting Any Better” to the crunchy, moody synths of “Money Makes The World Go Round.”

With a producer’s mindset and a songwriter’s pen, Innerpartysystem dove into discovering, creating and manipulating a new universe of musical influences, sonic textures and programming techniques. The result is an EP rich with innovation and originality.
