Opeth To Release "Heritage" on September 20th!

Sweden’s most revered and respected progressive metal mavens Opeth will release Heritage, their third album for Roadrunner, on September 20th. The first single and video will be the song “The Devil’s Orchard.” Heritage follows up 2008’s Watershed and 2005’s Ghost Reveries, each of which garnered the forward-thinking, genre-bending band some of the best reviews of their career.

Opeth frontman and guitarist Mikael Ã…kerfeldt weighed in on Heritage, saying, “It will be our 10th album/observation. I dig it; we all do. In fact, it feels like I’ve been building up to write for and participate on an album like this since I was 19.”

Live Tonight: My Morning Jacket's "Unstaged" Live Stream! "Circuital" Out Today!

My Morning Jacket release their sixth studio full-length album, Circuital, today on ATO Records.  Tonight, the band will be performing in their hometown of Louisville, Kentucky as a part of American Express’ “Unstaged” series.  The entire show will filmed by award-winning director Todd Haynes, and will stream live 9pm EDT at www.youtube.com/mymorningjacketVEVO.  Erykah Badu and Rachel Dratch are slated to participate as special guests.  The group also recorded an episode of VH-1’s Storytellers, which airs this Friday at 11pm.  The show will be a rare chance at hearing the stories that inspired some of My Morning Jacket’s classic songs.  The guys are hitting the road this summer for a North American tour, including select dates in August with Neko Case.

Just in time for ‘prom season’, Montreal pop band Creature have fans buzzing with their track “Prom Prom” that responds to the timely cultural struggles that the LGBT community is facing.

“Prom Prom” proved to be a hit on iTunes Canada over the week of May 3rd, where it received an overwhelming 40K free downloads. With high-energy and a radio-ready chorus (“It’s prom prom and you’re a lesbian”), the lyrics spread LGBT awareness about same-sex couples attending prom and will be featured on Creature’s upcoming sophomore album Sick Imagination.
