Davy Jones, Lead Singer of The Monkees, Dead at 66

Davy Jones died Wednesday near his home in Indiantown, FL of an apparent heart attack. He had said that he was feeling unwell and having trouble breathing, and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Jones was born in Manchester, England and was a former jockey and stage actor. In 1965, he auditioned for a new American television series, The Monkees, which was created to capitalize on the popularity of The Beatles. The pop success of The Monkees  was often attributed to the strength of songwriters Neil Diamond and Tommy Boyle.

Chickenfoot To Appear On The Tonight Show With Jay Leno!

Avalanche City Signs To Roadrunner! EP April 3rd, SXSW And Dates With Fun.

Roadrunner Records is pleased to announce the signing of New Zealand’s Avalanche City in North America. Carly Rae Jepsen Signs To Schoolboy Records/Interscope, Run By Scooter Braun And Justin Bieber

Carly Rae Jepsen, the Canadian singer and songwriter who has pop fans buzzing about her current single “Call Me Maybe,” has signed to Schoolboy Records, created by Scooter Braun and run by Braun and multi platinum Schoolboy/RMBG/IDJ artist Justin Bieber.

The irresistibly catchy “Call Me Maybe,” which Jepsen co-wrote, began to climb the iTunes Singles chart after Bieber tweeted the song to his 17.5 million followers. Phish Announces 2012 Summer Tour!

Phish will kick off its 2012 summer tour with a two-night stand at DCU Center in Worcester, MA (June 7 & 8) and a headlining performance at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, which will be held in Manchester, TN June 7-10.

The run will include three consecutive dates – June 15, 16 & 17 – at Atlantic City’s 142-acre Bader Field, which was formerly the site of the first U.S. municipal airport for both seaplanes and land-based planes. Centrally located on the Eastern seaboard, Atlantic City offers a wide range of attractions and amenities, including gaming, fine dining, spas, pristine beaches and the city’s historic boardwalk. Three-day tickets, single day tickets and travel packages are available. Fans can walk to Bader Field from all the major downtown Atlantic City hotels and special room rates have been secured for concertgoers.
