Davy Jones died Wednesday near his home in Indiantown, FL of an apparent heart attack. He had said that he was feeling unwell and having trouble breathing, and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Jones was born in Manchester, England and was a former jockey and stage actor. In 1965, he auditioned for a new American television series, The Monkees, which was created to capitalize on the popularity of The Beatles. The pop success of The Monkees  was often attributed to the strength of songwriters Neil Diamond and Tommy Boyle.

The Monkees had several hit songs, including Daydream Believer, Last Train to Clarksville and I’m a Believer. After the show ended in 1968, Jones went on to a solo  career, releasing Rainy Jane, and also appeared on Broadway in Oliver! Jones played...

JoJo has just released a brand new song entitled “Sexy to Me,” a release in support of her collaboration with Clearasil’s PerfectaWash campaign. The sexy track, which can be heard in JoJo’s new commercial for PerfectaWash, has a preview streaming on Soundcloud and is available today on iTunes.

CHICKENFOOT will perform their latest single “Different Devil” on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” tomorrow, March 1st, 2012. “The Tonight Show” airs on NBC TV at 11:35 p.m. EST. Check local listings for details.

The band recently announced A DIFFERENT DEVIL TOUR in continued support of their newest record “Chickenfoot III” (eOne Music/earMUSIC/Edel). “The Foot are road tested and ready to roll and can’t wait to play the new songs for the fans!” says front man Sammy Hagar. Roadrunner Records is pleased to announce the signing of New Zealand’s Avalanche City in North America. Avalanche City is the brainchild of Dave Baxter, a singer songwriter who wrote, produced, recorded and played every instrument on his debut album Our New Life Above The Ground, which was released July 8, 2011 in New Zealand. Baxter recorded the now platinum album in just one week. Avalanche City is the fastest selling debut artist in New Zealand history.

Roadrunner Records will release the four-track Love Love Love EP on April 3, 2012 (see track listing below). The first single “Love Love Love” will go to radio in May 2012 with a full length album to be released later this year. “Love Love Love’” debuted at #1 on the New Zealand singles charts.

Carly Rae Jepsen, the Canadian singer and songwriter who has pop fans buzzing about her current single “Call Me Maybe,” has signed to Schoolboy Records, created by Scooter Braun and run by Braun and multi platinum Schoolboy/RMBG/IDJ artist Justin Bieber.

The irresistibly catchy “Call Me Maybe,” which Jepsen co-wrote, began to climb the iTunes Singles chart after Bieber tweeted the song to his 17.5 million followers. It received an additional boost after Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and other young stars filmed themselves lip-synching and dancing to the song and posted the video on Big Time Rush actor and singer Carlos Pena’s YouTube Channel, where it racked up a million views in 24 hours and became a trending topic on Twitter...

Phish will kick off its 2012 summer tour with a two-night stand at DCU Center in Worcester, MA (June 7 & 8) and a headlining performance at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, which will be held in Manchester, TN June 7-10.

The run will include three consecutive dates – June 15, 16 & 17 – at Atlantic City’s 142-acre Bader Field, which was formerly the site of the first U.S. municipal airport for both seaplanes and land-based planes. Centrally located on the Eastern seaboard, Atlantic City offers a wide range of attractions and amenities, including gaming, fine dining, spas, pristine beaches and the city’s historic boardwalk. Three-day tickets, single day tickets and travel packages are available. Fans can walk to Bader Field from all the major downtown Atlantic City hotels and special room rates have been secured for concertgoers.
