(PCM) Often times people will complain about the dying local music scene and the lack of original talent, however every so often a band will come along that absolutely squashes those sentiments and brings along with them a breath of fresh air and renewed life to the scene, and one such band is Philadelphia, PA’s The Better Half!
I recently had a chance to check out The Better Half performing live at the TLA in Philly and I was completely blown away by what I witnessed on the stage. The Better Half definitely know how to put on a killer rock show. The band’s set consisted mainly of songs off their self-titled debut album with a special treat of two amazing covers songs thrown into the mix with Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” and “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins. Their performance was high energy and it was completely evident to all in attendance that The Better Half share a true passion for music that exudes from the stage.
As an added surprise much the the delight of fans, The Better Half were joined on stage by Brian Weaver of Silvertide for a song. Such an awesome moment!
I had a chance to sit down with The Better Half just prior to their TLA performance. We discussed the recording of their upcoming acoustic album, the band’s early influences, upcoming show dates, and why WHAM! has nothing on them and more! You can watch the full interview below:
