Christine McVie Set To Rejoin Fleetwood Mac On The Road This Fall

Fleetwood-Mac1(PCM) There has been some amazing news revealed today from the Fleetwood Mac camp. It has been announced that Christine McVie has rejoined the band and Fleetwood Mac will embark on a 34-show, 33-city U.S. tour slated to begin this fall.

Guitarist Lindsay Buckingham claims “it’s like she never left”, and both he and McVie are already working on songs for a new album. If you recall, McVie left the band back in 1998 and the last album to feature all five member of Fleetwood Mac together was the 1987 release of “Tango In The Night”.

The band has only been in the studio for about a week, but Buckingham says he has “high hopes” about how everything is going to turn out. McVie had some reservations and concern about how her voice would perform and claims that there were “dry spells” during her 15 year departure from the band, where she did not touch a piano for months.

Drummer Mick Fleetwood understands that McVie has been in a different place for the last 15 years, but much of what was daunting her has now gone away. The band is recording the new material at The Village in Los Angeles, which happens to be the same place they recorded “Tusk” and the energy and vibe is still very much unchanged.

Also set to return to both the studio and the tour is bassist John McVie, whose cancer diagnosis last year but the band’s world tour on hold. As of right now, his prognosis looks good and claims that he is “ready”.

There has been no news announced about when the album or any new singles will be released and much of that depends on when vocalist Stevie Nicks will be able to join the band in the studio. Nicks is still unsure of how or when she would like to approach the recording process.
