(PCM) Having never had the pleasure of seeing Sabaton in the live setting, I was overjoyed at the chance to come out and witness their absolutely explosive performance at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA. Needless to say they have made a fan for life!
Once Sabaton hits the stage it is like someone flipped the on-switch and the band was on full throttle for start to finish. Many of Sabaton’s songs deal with the heavy subject matter of both history and war, so it was amazing to watch them find the perfect balance to ease up some of the tension of the subject matter was brilliant. The band took time to laugh and joke with the crowd between songs and it was the perfect way to brighten everyone’s spirits just a bit. They are really funny guys and there is so much obvious chemistry between them all when they interact with one another on stage.
Sabaton’s setlist was stellar and the musicianship was right on-point. My only wish was that their set could have been a bit longer, as I could have honestly stayed and listened to them play for half the night, but knowing that I will see them again at Rock On The Range in Columbus, OH in just a few short weeks definitely eases my pain.
We had a chance to catch up with members of Sabaton Chris Rorland and Thorbjorn Englund just prior to the band’s explosive performance. Check it out below:
