(PCM) I can officially say that I am ridiculously excited for the upcoming release of “Black Cat”, the highly anticipated new album from alternative pop band Never Shout Never! Never Shout Never’s Christofer Drew is an artist that absolutely refuses to be grouped into any one particular genre or style and this has never been more evident than within the tracks that make up the “Black Cat” record.
I adore that Never Shout Never has never been afraid to be a bit experimental with their sound and take a few risks along the way. It truly pays off with “Black Cat” as I find it to be one of the band’s most solid efforts to date. “Black Cat” also marks the first time that Drew has welcomed the input of his fellow band mates and the album’s producer Dennis Harring to pen a few of the tracks that make up the album.
At the end of the day, “Black Cat” is a pop album, but with a more matured twist. Each track tells a very unique and engaging story and I find myself picking up on additional details with each and every listen. “Black Cat” is set to drop on August 7 via Warner Bros. Records just as Never Shout Never wraps up there stint playing the Main Stage at this years Vans Warped Tour. Fans who pre-order the album will receive instant access to download the new singles “Hey! We OK” and “Red Balloon”, which are also available for purchase via iTunes.
I caught up with Christofer Drew and the rest of Never Shout Never at the Van’s Warped Tour Stop in Columbia, MD to discuss the new album, touring plans, their creative process and more! Check it out below:
