It’s the 21st Century and we now have the Jetsons-like capability to project holographic figures of our favorite celebrities, alive and deceased, for the pleasure of the masses.
Back in 2012 during Weekend One of Coachella, audiences were stunned with a very realistic holographic-like Tupac Shakur, which was really a 2D reflection of the rapper, but effective nonetheless. Now, in 2016, we’ll have a real holographic Whitney Houston.
Pat Houston, the President of the Whitney Houston Estate, and Alki David, billionaire and CEO of Hologram USA, are collaborating on a major U.S. show, to be broadcast simultaneously on television and David’s FilmOn.com, before embarking on an international tour.
Despite not being too keen on the idea back in late 2014, Pat Houston is now on board with the idea of a holographic Whitney Houston.”It’s a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one of the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come. I look forward to the partnership,” Pat Houston said in a press release.
Whitney Houston is one of the most awarded female acts of all time, the best-selling pop artists of all time, and the only artist to have seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits. The accomplished and talented star tragically lost her life on February 11, 2012, at the young age of 48, leaving behind a legacy of timeless hits and unrivaled range.
Stay tuned for more details and updates about the tour and major U.S. show!
