Nada Surf Set To Play Le Bataclan In Paris

Nada-Surf(PCM) Barsuk recording group Nada Surf will be among the first artists to perform at Paris’ famed Le Bataclan upon the world renowned venue’s long awaited reopening in the wake of last November’s terrorist attacks. The NYC-based band – who were among the many artists who took part in Eagles of Death Metal’s “Play It Forward” campaign, performing EODM’s “I Love You All The Time” to benefit victims of the November 13th attacks – will play Le Bataclan on December 2nd.

“We’re not nervous about playing Le Bataclan,” says Nada Surf’s Matthew Caws, “in the same way we weren’t nervous being in New York after 9/11. There are two reasons we want to play this show: one is that we want to help contribute to a sense of life continuing as it did before. We want to help people have a good time and bring positive intentions that stand in opposition to fear. The other reason is in the same spirit – Le Bataclan is our favorite venue in Paris. We’ve played there three times. The day after the attacks we asked our manager when we could play there next.”
Currently touring Europe in support of their acclaimed new album, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, Nada Surf will spend much of this year on the road, including an epic summer world tour encompassing North American headline dates, international festival appearances, and more. The announced dates culminate with a pair of New York City homecoming gigs, set for Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on September 17th and NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on September 18th. The band recently performed live on NPR’s nationally syndicated “World Café” and was filmed performing at KEXP’s new studios in Seattle, WA.
Nada Surf’s eighth studio recording, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE includes the single, “Rushing,” accompanied by a romantic companion video filmed earlier this year in Paris. “Rushing” – written and directed by acclaimed French filmmakers Emilie and Sarah Barbault – can be viewed now at Nada Surf’s official YouTube channel.
